Welcome to the City of Kiel Police Department’s website.

 Here you will find information about our police department; including information about our staff, our equipment, and our community relations programs as well various links to other areas of interest including a link to sites about the City of Kiel.

 Our website is just one of the many new ways we are changing here at the Kiel Police Department. This is new for us and is a work in progress so I appreciate your patience as we continue to develop our site.

 The City of Kiel is a beautiful community with a long standing tradition of having its citizens experience a high quality of life. As officers we are responsible for providing law enforcement services here and our staff will work to maintain a harmonious relationship with our citizens, our businesses, and our schools to ensure that our community continues to enjoy that quality of life.

 When I took over as Chief in 2005, I saw a wonderful opportunity here to develop our police department into an even better agency than it already was. Building off the strong foundation of past success here at K.P.D., we’ve made a lot of changes here and we continue to make more changes as we move forward.

 Here at the police department we’re changing the way we look, the way we act, the way we think, and pretty much the way we do almost everything all with the common goal to develop our agency into a modern, progressive, and community orientated law enforcement agency. We want to be part of the Kiel community, not just the enforcers of law within the community.

 We’re embracing new technology, we’re adding new equipment, and we’ve more than tripled our police officer training in the past two years. All of this is being done with the goal to make our police department and its staff some of the best in the area.

 We’ve come a long way in the past few years, but we are constantly hitting the “reset” button on our list of goals and we keep adding new goals and challenges to meet.

 Most of what we’ve already accomplished in just the past 2 years, we had listed on our 5-year plan so it is definitely working for us and we’re building off our success.
