Applicants should complete the documents listed below and send them via US Mail or drop off in person to the attention of "Chief Dave Funkhouser" at the police department.  Faxed/E-mailed documents will not be accepted.

DOJ application can be obtained below via link, or the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Network (WILENET) website, or in person at the police department during regular business hours Mon-Fri 7:00AM to 5:00PM.                                           
 

Minimum Qualifications:

U.S Citizen; Minimum age-21; WI driver license; Good driving record; Good physical condition; Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification; High School Diploma; Associate Degree; Ability to possess a firearm; No felony convictions; No domestic abuse convictions; Vision correctable to 20/20; Good verbal and written communication skills; React quickly and effectively to stressful situations; Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems; Clear and concise speech; Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously; Ability to perform essential functions of this position; Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment

Hiring Process

Successful applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and who have properly submitted their completed documents will be invited to participate in a written testing process to be held in the City of Kiel in early July 2007.  All applicants must take the written test.  Transferred test scores will not be accepted.  Candidates with the top scores on the written test will be invited to participate in the interview process.  Anticipated start date for new hires is tentative scheduled for August of 2007 or soon after.
