Kiel Police Arrest Two Teenagers Attempting to Steal from Vehicles

At approximately 1:00AM on Saturday, December 8th, 2007, officers from the Kiel Police Department responded to a citizen's call reporting that two 17 year old males had been observed entering vehicles parked in driveways in the 1100 block of 2nd Street in the City of Kiel.  Using excellent descriptions provided by the citizen caller of the suspects and their vehicle, officers from the Kiel Police Department located the vehicle and arrested the two teenagers.  As a result of the officers' follow-up investigation, we believe the two suspects are responsible for not only attempted thefts from vehicles in the City of Kiel, but also competed thefts from vehicles located in both Calumet and Manitowoc Counties.  The two 17 year olds, one from Kiel and the other from Cleveland were released, but both face multiple charges which have not been determined at this time.  I credit the rapid apprehension of both suspects to the quick response and follow up investigative work conducted by Officer Pasket and Officer Blanke of the Kiel Police Department, but I also give credit and thanks to our local citizen who immediately reported the incident to our police department and also provided our dispatch with an excellent description of the suspects and their vehicle.
