Kiel Police Department Investigates Shooting

The Kiel Police Department is investigating an incident in which a resident of the city who resides on Rockville Road found a bullet lodged in the rear door on the North side of her home.  The resident found the bullet in her door on Saturday, November 24th, 2007 and reported it to her son who in turn reported the incident and provided the bullet to the Kiel Police Department last week.  Our investigation leads us to believe that the bullet was fired from the marsh/wooded area on the North side of the Sheboygan River North and East of Sisson Park.  We believe that the bullet traveled South over the river before landing in the door of the residence on Rockville Road.  Given the fact that the gun deer season was in effect when the bullet was found, we believe the bullet was possibly fired by someone who was hunting in that area.  We are actively investigating this incident but we are also asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Kiel Police Department at 920-894-2211
